Job Description


Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue is looking for the right men and women who are dedicated to protecting lives and serving our community.  We train our career staff to provide emergency medical services, fight fires, perform rescues and promote fire safety and prevention.  More than 80% of our calls are for emergency medical services.

Experience is not necessary. We offer a starting salary of $44,968 with full benefits from day one of being hired and starting training at our Training Academy.

This selection process is for projected hiring January 2014.

ATTENTION--ALS PROVIDERS:  We give hiring preference to VA and Nationally certified ALS providers: first to Paramedics, then to Intermediate/99's.  ALS providers receive an additional annual incentive of $5,397 plus hourly supplement pay.Prince William County, VA, pop. 390,000, is a large and diverse community located 35 miles southwest of Washington, DC.  We are a growing organization of 500 career personnel and offer tremendous learning and promotional opportunities.
